To: Everyone who helped at Lincoln County Hospital
I broke my humerus in three places last November and am grateful for the excellent care received during a stressful experience, especially given the extra precautions needed because of Covid. I was pleased to be able to heal naturally rather than have an operation and have been very impressed with treatment and the follow-up online physiotherapy sessions. In addition to being thankful to staff in A&E and the Orthopaedic Team, small kindnesses stand out from people not involved in my direct care, including help from door staff, and a passing nurse who gave me a blanket because I looked cold when waiting in A&E. Thank you all for your extra hard work in difficult times x - Helen Rose

I fell and broke my upper arm resulting in three fractures, in January this year. The follow up was quick and efficient, informative and encouraging. I was told what exercises to do, which were then followed up by online physiotherapy. I’m happy to say I’m doing well, no operation required, though a long way to go to regain better mobility. The staff have all been very friendly. Also, thanks to Birchwood Surgery as a doctor rang up to have a chat with me. Many thanks to all. - Christine Spencer

To: Pilgrim Hospital, Boston, Ward 1B with special thanks to Wendy
I’d like to a big thank you to the staff at Ward 1B. Everyone was very supportive and compassionate of me and my partner (Ricky, not Chris! 😂) when we lost our son. I want to pay special thanks to Support Worker, Wendy. She made, an awful time for us, that little bit better. When I had just birthed our baby, who we have gone on to name Jacob, Wendy held me whilst I sobbed, I repeatedly apologised and Wendy told me to never apologise for this. The loss of our baby was ultimately out of our control. It’s taken me a lot to work through these emotions, but I often think about that day for many reasons. One is because I felt so supported and cared for. I have wanted to thank you all, but didn’t know how to, what with the restrictions. I am so pleased I saw this forum on the news today, and I can only hope it reaches you all. - Charlie Kearn

How do we, out here, say thank you for all you do in there? It's hard enough on an ordinary day, but the day Covid arrived, you took up your armour of love and kindness and became the family to those, when their family couldn't come. On the days that you're tired and feel you haven't the strength to carry on, please know we feel your pain. All I can do, is pray for you all. You truly are the heroes. When in private, let the tears flow, get mad or just feel like giving up, just know, we out here, love and respect you and are waiting to hug you. You've got this guys!! Thank you. God bless. - Jayleigh Wallis

I have just had a one year birthday for my new hip! I had it replaced at Grantham Hospital last year and I can't thank the staff enough. I was awake during the operation and they gave me headphones to listen to music, but I ended up taking them off and joining in with the banter! The ward staff were amazing; they let my wife stay overnight due to my anxiety and that made such a difference. I went home less than 24 hours later. How awesome is that! So here I am a year later able to cycle, walk and get on with my life again. So huge thank you! - David Negus
