Coast2Coast Gratitude supporting NHS Charities Together

On the 27th September, Simon Gamewell, TAP’s Healthcare and Social Care Advisor, is taking on the challenge of riding from the East Coast to West Coast on an electric wheelchair, raising funds for NHS Charities Together. This is step one, with step two being a North Coast to South Coast trip (John O’Groats to Land’s End) in 2022.

Just four years ago, Simon had his life torn apart by the unfortunate circumstances that left him with spinal cord injuries. However, he was not ready to give up on life as he’s a glass half-full type and wants to set an example for the less optimistic. Simon’s ‘Coast2Coast Gratitude’ venture is a way for him to make a difference!

Simon’s goal is to give health and care workers the praise that they deserve and to inspire others to reach new heights and overcome the obstacles that life throws at them. He plans to pass health and care locations on their way including Royal Liverpool University Hospital,  Christies NHS Foundation, Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust and Lincoln County Hospital.

Simon has chosen to raise money for NHS Charities Together as a way to support the health and care workers who have helped him and others. The focus that “by continuing to keep them in our minds we will also hopefully keep them in our hearts!”

TAP is providing a digital donation platform allowing members of the public to make donations to NHS Charities Together.
